Global Urban Garden Network
Venice, Italy
At the 19th Venice Architecture Biennale, we introduced the world at large to Global Urban Garden Network, a participatory platform and digitally native ecosystem connecting and fostering the growth of urban gardens around the world. The exhibit consists of tryptic screen live streams of gardens in San Jose, Costa Rica, Los Angeles, and, of course, Venice. It remains on view to this date at the European Cultural Centre.
Some ongoing live-streams features urban gardens growing with live plant-music generated by the Epiphytic Music System (EMS), where plants generate beneficial frequencies and musical decisions, creating a virtuous cycle. To help grow gardens, GUGN has created a series of plantable seed-postcards, where plants share their feelings and ideas. Mail a seed-postcard to another gardener, or plant it yourself, and share gardens with the world.
